White Christmas Button Book Swap--Part II

Last month I participated in the White Christmas Button Book Swap with the Button Floozies.  Yesterday I posted the book I made, but it's so much fun when a package arrives from a swap partner!

I always want to make sure I can steal away somewhere to really savor opening the package and looking at what's inside...

This very pretty little bag was filled with fun buttons.  Some of them were brass-type buttons with crests on them.  I found them especially interesting.

These lovely Christmas tags were also in the package.  Can't wait to use them--or maybe hoard them all to myself!
Now for the book itself.  Michele made such a beautiful button book for me!

I will be the first to admit I am a terrible photographer!  I'm afraid my pictures really don't do justice to all the detail in this book.  The front cover has an actual frame with a vintage church scene.  Michele used lots of lace and ribbons including this little spool tied on the side.

I will just let you look at all the pages.  There are so many pretty images and embellishments!  There are even pockets in most of the pages with little button cards or tags and images tucked inside.

What I love about participating in swap projects is meeting someone new and receiving a piece of another's artists creativity.
Merry Christmas to Michele!
Thank you for this lovely White Christmas Button Book!  And thank you to the Button Floozies for letting me play along!

A Little Christmas Crafting

Lately I've been neglecting my crafty needs.
Sure there are always plenty of things that need to be done everyday, but there really isn't a good reason for me not to take a bit of time during the week to do some creating!

I was at JoAnne Fabrics this week and found a little foam Christmas house kit.

At 60% off, I thought it would be a great project to do with my 9yr. old!

He is quite the Lego expert and had no problem figuring out how to assemble this house.

Here is a little close-up of our fun project...

My son used the scraps from the house to make this Elf and Santa chair, Minecraft style!

White Christmas Button Book Swap--Part I

What fun to have snow while working on this swap project!

I barely had the Halloween decorations put away, and it's on to Christmas crafting...

The Button Floozies are hosting a White Christmas Button Book Swap, and my friend Laurie invited me to join!  My partner is Michele at Nook and Cranny.
Here is the finished book I made for Michele.

I love the theme White Christmas so I used vintage laces and fabrics that I have collected in shades of white and cream.  This page has a vintage Father Christmas with a sparkly snowflake button.  The opposite page is a wreath made from vintage buttons.

I love using vintage photos and these are accented with more vintage buttons.

The page on the left was a fun challenge to get the buttons lined up just right!  On the right, I stitched a piece of vintage Christmas sheet music under a vintage photo and added little pearl buttons.

The back page is kept in the simple White Christmas theme with lace and vintage buttons.

This was such a fun project to get me in the Christmas spirit!
I can't wait to see what Michele has made for me!
